Submitted on behalf of Mario Masellis... "There are some mild variants of LBD and some more aggressive variants. Some people who fail to respond to the medications can have a more rapid course including significant immobility and severe dementia such that they cannot look after themselves. Some people can stay in the milder stages for a number of years without significant disability. The average duration (until death) of this disease is about 8-10 years, but the more aggressive forms could have an average duration of less than 6 years"
